Cultural Rajasthan Tour (09 nights/10 days)

Day 01 Arrival Delhi (Late night arrival)

Upon arrival at Delhi International airport, assisted transfer to hotel for check in & overnight stay.

Day 02 Delhi

Post breakfast we start our Delhi sightseeing. In the sightseeing we visit some of the important cultural & historical symbols of India including Red Fort, Qutab Minar & Humayun’s Tomb. We drive past the impressing India Gate, Parliament house and President’s Palace. At greater ease, we visit Raj Ghat, the memorial built in honor of Mahatma Gandhi, father of the nation for India. As one of the cultural highlights, we visit Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, a Sikh temple to learn about the youngest religion of the world. In the evening we visit Lotus temple, the house of worship for Bahai religion.

Day 03 Delhi - Jodhpur (Flight)

After our breakfast, we leave by flight for Jodhpur, the ‘Sun city’ of Rajasthan. In Jodhpur, our morning will be spent in sightseeing of this medieval town, including the Mehrangarh Fort, this formidable structure that houses some marvellously carved panels, latticed windows, magnificent palaces, huge ramparts and the seven gates to guard the fort. Afterwards we take a leisurely walk in spice market at the Clock tower area of Jodhpur.

Post visit, transfer to Chandelao village (40 km/01 hr drive) for overnight stay in medieval fortress, build by the landlords of the area.

Day 04 Chandelao

Today we have the option of taking some cultural visits and activities in and around Chandelao or just spend a leisurely day. Amongst the activities, we can ride jeeps to a nearby village for visiting families of potters or some women making beautiful embroidery on textiles. We can have optional visits to the local markets in the town of Pipar that still retain their traditional flavour or to go for leisurely walk through the village of Chandelao to get used to the rual are and observe the various things people are doing.

In the afternoon, optional ride on camel cart to go for our special ‘sundowner’ trip. We ride through the village of Chandelao to reach a set of high rocks from where we experience the enchanting sunset along with a drink and some grilled food.  After our drinks and some snacks, we return to the Chandelao fort for dinner and overnight.

Day 05 Pushkar

Breakfast is at fortress. Later transfer to Pushkar (160 km/03 ½ hrs drive), one of the most important Hindu Pilgrimages in India. Post check in we take a guided walk through the streets of Pushkar, one of the holiest pilgrimage places for Hindus, Pushkar boasts of nearly 500 temples and the only temple of ‘Bramha’ the creator god of the Hindus and holy lake. Pushkar is also the best place for some close encounter with the famous ‘Holy Cows’ of India!!  Optional camel safari in the sand dunes near Pushkar town if interested

Day 06 Jaipur

Post breakfast, departure for Jaipur, the “Pink City of India” and capital of colorful state of Rajasthan. En route, in Ajmer, we visit the tomb of Sufi saint Khwaja Moin-ud-din Chisti, the holiest Muslim shrine in India. Despite being a Muslim shrine, it holds very high respect among people of all religions, who can be seen praying here for their wishes to be fulfilled. Afternoon arrival in Jaipur and relax. Evening rickshaw ride through the bustling markets of the ‘Pink City’, Jaipur.

Day 07 Jaipur

Breakfast and full day sightseeing of Jaipur including Elephant ride at Amber Fort, the City Palace that combines elements of Rajput finesse, Mughal spaciousness and English linear planning. The Palace displays a opulent museum of Textile, arms and armaments and also an Art gallery. We visit, Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory built by Sawai Jai Singh II, was quite modern for its times. Here the maharaja used to read skies, stars and forecast about the rainfall. We also visit Hawa Mahal, the most recognizable monument in Rajasthan, the Palace of Winds, was built in 1799 by Maharaja Pratap Singh. It was used as a place for the queens to observe the markets below, away from the public eye.

Day 08: Ranthambhore         

After breakfast, transfer to Ranthamobre National Park (200 km/4 hrs where the celebrated Indian Tiger is best seen. In the afternoon tiger Safari in the Ranthambore National Tiger Reserve by open canters or jeeps to see the magnificent Tiger in the wild.  Evening at leisure.

Day 09: Agra

After breakfast we depart for Agra (270 km/05 hrs drive). En route, we visit Fatehpur Sikri, the abandoned capital of the Mogul empire. Now a World Heritage site, it houses some beautiful palaces, a mosque and the biggest arched gate.  Evening arrival in Agra and check in at hotel for night stay

Optional sunset visit to Taj Mahal, a symbol of eternal love.

Day 10: Flight Departure (Delhi airport)

Early morning visit to Taj Mahal, the most well known symbol of India’s historical heritage during sunrise and Red Fort, the best example of Mogul architecture.

At noon transfer to Delhi international airport for flight back home.
